The studio was founded by Sophie Gmachl, whose background in a traditional Austrian family business, combined with academic and professional experience in marketing and international business, shaped a deep understanding of how brands grow across borders.

The name SOPHISK reflects this bridge: SOPH stands for origin and identity, while -ISK is inspired by Scandinavian language, culture and clarity.
